One-Piece Swimwear Breakdown

One-piece swimsuits are a great way to look elegant and classic. It
use to be tough to find a one-piece for different body types,
especially if you were tall or curvy, but those days are long gone.
The market is filled with something for everyone.

For the Curvy Girls:
Head over to
macy.com for the Miracle Suit(14) or Jantzen's homage to
the 50's(13). Both are great for supporting big busts and slimming
waists. You can never go wrong with black, but if you want to spice it
up choose a bold pattern like this one from juicy couture(26).

Tall girls:
It can be hard to find a suit that gives you enough coverage to cover
your long body. Some companies that offer long torso suits are
Lands'End, Delia's and the Miracle Suit(13). The higher end swimwear
lines also tend to be longer, so brands like La Perla(2 & 17) or Trina
Turk's navy palm one shoulder(19) could be just the right fit. You can
also opt for a tankini from
layers.com(7 & 27) or limericki.com(5 &
15).

Skinny Minis:
To ad curves, this seasons ruffles are your best friend(black and
white image for skinny suit by
ladoux.com). Kenneth Cole offers a red
number with ruffles along the bust(3) and the Mod Bod offers an
adorable ruffled number(21).

Short, but Sweet:
To elongate your body look for vertical stripes or long patterns,
nothing that cuts the suit in half. Avoid boy-cuts, you want a leg
that cuts higher to lengthen your legs.

Vintage
If you want a one-of-a-kind suit try vintage. Glamoursurf.com(10, 18 &
24) has a large variety and a mix from different time periods,
including the 50's and 60's. Vintage90210.com has unique suits from
the 70's and 80's eras(black and white shots for short and tall).

Vintage Inspired
Get the vintage look without the vintage fabrics at
retrodress.com,
the Esther WIlliams Collection.
Pearl Swimwear makes elegant and
simple suits, with a slight vintage air(1).

Accessorize
Take your suit to the next level with a big sun hat and a wrist full of bangles.

Finding the right fit for your body can be a time commitment, but
walking into your next pool party confident is worth every second. No
two piece can give you that glamourous, pulled together look. So
strut.
