Mad about Morocco

(Danielle, my beautiful and too-fun Sister in Law, Fall 2007)

Everyone has their dream place in the world right? Mine is pretty untapped (which makes it that much more appealing to me), it is none other than Morocco. Why Morocco? Ahhh, because of the colors, the culture the food, the dancing, the fabrics, the details. Yes, I believe it is definitely mostly the details. Details are in everything but in Morocco they are exemplified so much more through their intricate beading, weaving color patterns, detailed architecture, tiles, rugs and more.

I have dressed up as a genie many a times to fit into this place I will go to someday, I have dined at many a Marrakech 9 course meal locations from D.C. to the West Coast, so I should conclude that I'm obsessed about Morocco.

(Our beautiful Mother in NYC, Summer 2007)

One day while at a street fair around Lincoln Square in NYC with my Mom, we found a tent full of Saris just calling out to us. We picked up some for my wedding and made a whole Moroccan theme out of my reception from the dinner to the tiles on the floor to the cake to the hanging saris as banners and using jewel tones all throughout, it was colorful to say the least!

(My so handsome husband in our Moroccan tent, cheers! Fall 2007)

(Next week, Winter 2010!)

And NOW...last Saturday I booked my flight to Spain/Morocco and am leaving tomorrow morning with Heidi, gaaaaa! Words cannot describe my colorful excitement to go. Pictures to come upon our return.

Have fun! I did a Barcelona/Marrakech trip in 2007. AMAZING! If you can, also make the trip to Essouaria, Ouarzazate {hip little town where they make all the movies!}, and then to the Sahara for a camel trip! Marrakech is awesome. Make sure to have some mint tea in a fancy French cafe in the Gueliz!

Heather and Heidi!! I was looking up your hair accessories and happened upon your blog! I am so glad to have met you on this amazing trip of yours. Good luck with the hair bands, and the next time I'm in Nordstroms I'll be sure to buy one!
